03.12.10 - Update from Jamie
Hey all.

Just wanted to say that I hope you all are doing well.

We are getting ready to start our weekend journey for D-nows. They are always fun to worship with young people close to my age. We love to play for these as they help us get in touch with our inner youth.

Well I would like to tell you all that you might be seeing a change in our show. Most of you are like what is Jamie talking about? Is it a new band member? No. is it a new haircut? No. Is it a new song? Close! The answer is, I have bought a new drum set. It is a 1974-1975 slingerland drum kit. It is awesome!! I'm so excited for you all to see it. I have been getting into old drums so if anyone knows someone who has a old drum set or drums please contact me through myspace or facebook.

You guys have a fun a safe spring break!

Jamie

03.05.10 - Thursday's First Ten Responses (March 4)
This week we have Jake (guitar Jake) and Kevin answering the questions...

Carter Maynard: Who's your favorite band? (Besides yourselves....) Lol.

This is definitely different for each of us, so...

Kevin: The Beatles and Jimmy Eat World, can't narrow down between them.
Jake: Butch Walker

Michaela Brook Beaver do you enjoy pie???

Kevin: No, not so much.
Jake: Key lime. REAL key lime. No milk.

Jessica Parsons: What are some of your favorite books???

Kevin: Keep posted to the 10-20 in 2010 to find out mine.
Jake: Books? That's like a text message, but longer???

Hunter Durham Smith: What caused ya'll to want to go into christian music apart from secular, or being a christian band under a pop label such as Lifehouse or The Fray?

Kevin: Um... I guess we just ended up here so far. If mainstream radio wants to play us, have at it.
Jake: I'm new. But yeah, top 5 in the top 40 sounds good to me.

Elizabeth Jackson: How did yall get started? :) I love you guys

Previously answered, please see previous responses in the NOTES section.

Davis Moore: What is your favorite brand of guitar?

Kevin: If I had to pick, I'd probably have to go with First Act. (this is not true)
Jake: Does it work?

Jonathan Becker: At what ages did all of you receive Jesus as your Savior?

Different ages for each member, not totally sure for everyone.

Kevin: Around 12, I think. I just know I'm saved.
Jake: Five. I ate peanut butter crackers to celebrate.

Brelynn Shipton: What are your favorite Disney movies???

Kevin: I guess The Lion King.
Jake: Fox and the Hound, or 'Briar Rabbit.... or 'Robin Hood.... Jungle Book.... Geez. This is hard.

Maggie Mercer: How many pairs of shoes do you own?

Kevin: Maybe 15-20.
Jake: I throw mine away. 10 and a half.

Ben Talbot: If you had to plan a worship set using none of your own music what would you play?

Well, tonight we covered Charlie Hall, Tomlin....
We pretty much cover hymns, the Passion guys and a few Hillsong.
But we enjoy teaching our songs the best.

Jake Carter: Did y'all ever listin to nirvana?

Kevin: Yup.
Jake: I cannot answer this with the appropriate enthusiasm that I deem fit. But yes.

Faith Shacklett: Favorite places to think , get ideas for songs?

Kevin: It's conditional. I can't narrow it down.
Jake: For me it's in the shower or late at night.

BONUS ANSWERS!!!

Lindsey Michelle Centers: What denomination are y'all?

We like Bible.

Elizabeth Imbody: What's the wierdest thing you've ever signed

Definitely a prosthetic leg. Pretty awkward.

Heather Bennett: When r u coming back to marion illinois

Look at our EVENTS section. It's VERY SOON!

Danielle Mitchell: When is your next concert in Birmingham?

It won't be a concert, but we are having a Good Friday Gathering on April 2 @ 7pm.
The event will be held at Cathedral of the Cross.
Visit www.christcitybirmingham.com for more information. Thanks!

Kaitlyn Dawn: I love how it strictly says, be one of the first ten to leave a question and we'll answer, but after the tenth one people still comment. lol

Well... You should, because sometimes we do extra ones, like this time!!
And Patti is right, see below.

Patti Michalcik Stuart: But some of the top ten might be repeats, and then they'll be skipped. Also, they request you don't ask questions about touring dates and locations (and a lot of people do).

Thanks so much for participating you guys! We appreciate you more than you know. Peace.

03.03.10 - Update from Jamie
Here I sit watching how the weather changes. I have to say that God is in control no matter what is going on here on earth. I wonder about these things and they keep me up at night. I am not a science buff, but I love learning new things and I also trust in the bible and God's words on how the earth was made, formed and will end. I admit I watch the weird shows about how the earth was made and how it will end, but that doesn't mean I think it's true. It's all about entertainment right?

Well here is my question for you all: Have you ever looked at your favorite celebrity and asked if they are a Christian? Well my answer is: Why don't we look at your friends, people on the street or the person in the car next to you. As a believer in Jesus, you need to pray for these people.

I know that I'm not the best, but I noticed the other day that I wanted to sell some stuff on eBay and I asked God to please sell them. Well it's safe to say they didn't sell. I wonder if it was because He knows I need to pray for more important things.

Look us up on facebook, twitter and myspace.

03.01.10 - OneVerse Kid's Program *FREE*
Most of you have heard us talk about OneVerse, however, we wanted to introduce you to a new (and free) program for your kids! To get involved you need to register on line this week so we can send you the materials.

It's called OneVerse Kids Discover. Its' an incredible opportunity we have for families to get involved with the ministry of OneVerse. We have created an 8 week program for kids and families to become aware of the 2,000 plus people groups that are still without God's word. Each week we have our video host welcome the kids and encourage them learn about a kid somewhere around the world that has had their life changed because of having God's Word in their language. They learn a verse in another language each week; have fun activities based on their age range; family activities, and they can try to save $26 to give one verse of Scripture to the Vidunda people.

I invite you to check this out...share it with your friends and family. Make sure to register soon so you can have the kit mailed to you this week. I know they will love it!

02.27.10 - Weekend Update With Hugs
On the road again.... (Sing it.)

It's been a huge blessing for us to have some down time this month to spend with our families, home churches, and friends. We thank the Lord for that. And we are also grateful for the privilege we have to travel to Marion, Ohio, this weekend to proclaim the gospel and exalt our hero, Jesus. He is the only One worthy that could call us to such a remarkable task.

Cool things are happening, guys. I know many of you have been asking questions about tour dates, new record release date, and other details involving our future. First off, thanks so much for being interested, even if you are just saying that stuff to be nice. :) It offers encouragement to us that reaches farther than you will ever know. We should confess that none of us are guaranteed a tomorrow, so we are thankful for this day that God has made. Sometimes it's just good to acknowledge that. He is the potter, and we are the clay. We dry up when He wants us to.

Our hope and prayer is that in the near future, we will be able to shed more light on all of your curiosity. Talks about future tours are in the works, new songs have been and are being written. We are still doing exactly what we feel the Lord has called us to: create songs the make much of Jesus and little of us. We want to continue driving in the truth that all of us, at times at least, find it difficult to swallow: we are nothing, we have nothing, we can do nothing good apart from the glorious grace of God, found in the cross of Christ.

If you're in the Marion area, please consider coming out tomorrow night. It's a really rad looking venue. Let's pack it out.

Thanks so much for your friendship, peeps. Let's hang soon.

02.26.10 - Thursday's First Ten Responses
Just so you guys know, if we've answered the question, you will find the answers in the previous TFT. We are trying to keep this all fresh for you guys!

And again, if you ask a touring question, we will skip it, because our Events section clearly shows our schedule. We hardly ever know where we are going. Today, we are headed to Marion, Ohio. And that's about as far ahead as we know. Keep asking great questions!

Katie Schmitz: Why do you call yourself the Rush of Fools?
:D Previously answered.

Olivia Ortmann: How did you guys get started?
Previously answered.

Rhoda Frost: When are you guys doing a new album??? seriously? i LOVE your songs ♥
As soon as we possibly can. Please for us in this process. Pray that God moves us in that direction VERY soon. We really want to get some new tunes out to you all.

Joshua Olcott: If you guys weren't in the music business what would you be doing?
This would totally differ between. I (Kevin) would probably move back into the church staff world.

Clara Vieira Blitch: Would you guys consider coming to the humble campus of the Baptist College of Florida for a concert?
Sure! Have someone contact our booking agent - www.goa-inc.com

Sandi Cornett: What's your favorite fan/friend story? and/or Do you guys play practical jokes and if so, what's the best one?
Probably the story of our friend, Michael. Incredible story of God's grace in restoring a family back together. It all took place through our song, 'Undo.' And we don't really do the practical jokes world. It's more of just sarcasm for us. :)

Bethany D. Villero: Can you guys do cartwheels? :)
Wes can, I've seen him do it. And Jamie and Jacob both say they can. (I haven't seen that.)

Bethany continues (guys, if you want them to come to your city, see if your church can book them - they don't decide where they get to go all the time...)
Thanks for saying that. And yeah, you are right. :)

Rhoda Frost in the top ten, ahh yes ;)
But you didn't ask a question! Haha. Wait, you already did. I get it now.

Elizabeth Bullock: Fave place to grab a quick bite! :) And what do you all get? Well, we had a place called Lawler's BBQ today in the Huntsville area. This one would be an extensive and exhausted answer to go into too much detail, haha.

Brad Neeley: When are you coming back to Huntsville, AL again and what do you dondaily to strengthen your relationship with God? God bless

Guys-(- We were there today! Like 30 minutes ago for lunch. As far as daily walk, it depends on the person, again. But we try and hit up some reading together as a band once a day. Usually some dead guy, like Spurgeon. I think we are all trying harder deepen our prayer time. Martin Luther used to say that he had a weak prayer life because he only spent three hours a day praying. We need to be more dependent.

Michelle Franks Georgiana Dreams: any advice to give a gal with a Big Dream in her heart? Like I know its God - just trying to figure out the timing to step out in faith and the whole just waiting thing??? Be still and know he is God - or step forward - the last thing I want to do is PUSH the hand of God.

I think you just answered your own question, haha! Just remember that sometimes the Lord is pushing us through doors we would never had expected, but that's okay. Just breathe, and go! He is our Father, and He cares for His children, like more than we could ever imagine.

Nicki Peters: Do yall ever get discourage and want to quit?
I would imagine that at times, all of us have felt this way in some form or fashion. But God hasn't called us to do so.

Steven Scone: Why didn't you answer last weeks questions?
Did they not get posted? Huh, that's weird. We'll try and check into that.

Great questions this week, guys! Hope you enjoy this as much as we do!

02.25.10 - Update from Wes
Hey Fools,

Hope all is well where you are! We're enjoying a nice winter,
then spring, then winter, then spring then winter then spring,
then..........yeah. I'm never listening to some gopher, again.

Since we've been home recently, I decided that instead of sitting
around and eating pizza and drinking Mt. Dew (which sounds like
a KILLER day to me) that I should probably do something a bit
more productive. So I have.

Over a week ago I purchased and started doing the P90X
workouts. OH.....MY.....GOSH.....!

If you've never heard of P90X workouts, just do a LITTLE bit of
research and watch a few videos on YouTube. They are the most
extreme workouts I've ever been a part of. I played baseball
for 15 years with some football, basketball and track thrown in
there. It's the most extreme stuff I've ever done. WOW! You work
solidly for 90 days and you get some extreeemmmee results.
It's not at ALL body building but toning up and just flat out getting
in great shape.

I always heard Malerie (kevin's beautiful bride) talk about P90
and I saw her get amazing results and I wanted to get back in
shape so I figured I'd give it a shot! You'd think we wouldn't need
to be that fit to play music for a living. Well, that may be the case
for most bands who just sit there on stage and don't move around
alot. If you've ever been to one of our shows, then you know we
are very energetic and act like Crazies!

So, with doing all of that, I figured I'd need to be in shape. Besides,
with P90 it's not just working out, but it's also a way to whip your
eating habits into shape. If you've traveled alot in your careers or maybe you've been low on time, you know how, like us, you think
"Oh, I'll just run through the drive through here at _________'s
and I'll just grab a quick something." Yeah, try doing that for years
when after shows you're starving and the only thing open is either
Waffle House or a fast food joint.

My wife would laugh and in a funny voice say.."you're letting yourself gooooo!!" haha I love her (can't wait for the bambino on the way!)

Anyways. In week two, now, I've already lost about 3 pounds and I am feeling absolutely great. Maybe I can finally face off with Jeremy Camp in some tackle football like we talked about.

HAHA! HE DON'T WANT THIS!! HE DON'T WANT THIS...

Ok. he's bigger than me. So what! Tackle at the legs!

Alrighty. Well we're heading to Marion, OH this weekend. We play
at the Marion Palace Theatre. You should TOTALLY check our
tour dates out and come see the show. While you're at it, look up
the venue on Google Images. WOW! WOW! WOW!

Alrighty kids, take care. We're trying to finish up some videos for
you but the new iMovie software is kicking our tails. We'll get it figured out.

Until next time,

Blessings,
@willister86

02.17.10 - Update from Jamie!
First let me say that I have missed my internet, but it is now working!!

Ok well I hope you all had a great Valentines day. I had a AWESOME time with my lady (Em). I got her some pretty roses and I made her chocolate covered strawberrys and I must say they looked killer. We went to dinner Johnny Carino's and had very nice dinner with fresh bread, water with lemon and bowtie pasta. Oh yes it was great and she got some kind of spicy dish. Well the night was ending and what do I get a big fast head ache. Headaches run in my family.

So great news...we are getting hardwood floor in my house and must I say they look great! My mom is very excited about them and has wanted them since we bought the house my freshman year of high school. Super excited about running and sliding on the floors with socks on. You've done that right? AGain, glad my internet is back so I can update you on what's going on, and while I type this, I'm listening to the Backstreet boys. Which album you ask?? Well the Millennium of corse lol.

I also just found out that my drums I was trying to sell might be sold. The man is going to come this weekend. So I pray he buys them!! On a second note I have recived my tax refund, oh man i'm excited. (Em) my girlfriend just got a new job volunteering at a hospital on campus at the University of Alabama. She wants to be a nurse, this is huge for her to have this job! They pay for your school and give you a job when you graduate collage.

Well that's all in Jamie world tune in next week.

Follow us on twitter and facebook and myspace tell your friends and family.

Thanks y'all

02.15.10 - Update Blog From Jamie
Hey Guys and Gals,

Hope you all are having a great start to the week.

Well I wanted to let you in to the wonderful world of Jamie.

So last Friday was a great day. We slept in until about 9am I was getting ready to meet a guy named Gary Asher. Now for those who don't know Gary look him up. He is a drum collector and has THE LARGEST DRUM COLLECTION in the world. Drummers, let me just say that he has a lot of drums, how about 700 snare drums and over 300 sets.

When I got there we shook hands and said hey nice to meet you. He's super nice by the way. So we start the drum tour starting in his living room. There was a DW drum set from Zoro, a famous drummer, who gave it to Gary. He also had 8 snares in that room on display. The oldest drum in the room was a Ludwig black beauty from the 1900's.

We moved on to the next room, which was the staircase walkway if you will. It was full of all kinds of pictures with people's John Hancock's everywhere. So cool and when I looked up I saw a Rush Of Fools picture. I asked what is that doing there, and he said you guys are from the area I had to show you love. We laughed. Then we headed to the downstairs room I thought I was going to faint, there were so many drum kits and cymbals. Finally we looked through the attic. He had more drums and kits up stairs.

Lets just say that my day was great and had a blast meeting with Gary.

Keep it real yo

Jamie
